Parking penalty appeals process

Matt Taylor made this Freedom of Information request to Department for Transport This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

Department for Transport did not have the information requested.

Dear Department for Transport,

I would like to know, within the past 12 months, the national average time taken to consider and respond to informal parking challenges, from the date of receipt of the challenge? And specifically, what percentage of these are considered and responded to within the suggested 14 days response time as laid out in the Traffic Management Act 2004 Operational Guidance to Local Authorities: Parking Policy and Enforcement (11.10)?
Also, what is the longest and shorted recorded response time to informal parking charge appeals over the past 12 months?

Yours faithfully,

Matt Taylor
