Parking cases brought by Parking Eye, June 2013

The request was successful.

Dear Ministry of Justice,

Please can you tell me, for the period 01/06/2013 to 30/06/2013, (inclusive) the total number of Claims submitted through the online services (MCOL and CPC) where the Claimant's name is ParkingEye Ltd. (and trading variants of that name)

If possible, I would like the information broken down into weekly numbers, or claims by day, whichever is easier.

If the information is not immediately available, please delay until it is.

In a previous similar request you asked:
https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/p...

At the moment we are carrying out a stakeholder engagement exercise looking at the range of stakeholders that request data form us and what the data is used for. As such, can you please tell me why you are requesting this information and what you intend to do with it?

I am investigating the claim by the British Parking Association Limited that keeper liability (Schedule 4 of the Protection of Freedom Act 2012) will reduce the burden on the Ministry of Justice civil courts.

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/sy...

In 2012, the number of civil claims brought by the parking industry was 600, of which 34 progressed to a disputed hearing.

Yours faithfully,

Alex Shipp
