Park bye-laws

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Belfast City Council should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Belfast City Council,

In paragraph 3(1)(b) of the council's Bye-Laws Regarding the Consumption of Intoxicating Liquor in Designated Places, a reference is made to bye-laws for the regulation of parks.

Please could you provide a copy of these bye-laws.

Yours faithfully,

Conor Fawcett

Dear Belfast City Council,

FOI, Belfast City Council

Dear Mr Fawcett

I refer to your email, below, dated 14 June 2022.

I have contacted the Council department that was requested to issue a
response on behalf of the Council and can advise that it is finalising its
response to you and hopes to be in a position to issue it to you shortly.

I apologise for the delay and thank you for your forbearance in this
regard.

If you are dissatisfied with how the Council handled your request for
information, you have the right to request that the Council formally
review this decision.  If you wish to do so, please write to the Records
Manager, Information Governance Unit, Legal and Civic Services, Belfast
City Council, City Hall, Belfast, BT1 5GS.  Alternatively, you can write
to the Records Manager at the following email address:
[1][email address].

Should you remain dissatisfied following the Council's internal review,
you can seek an independent review from the Information Commissioner.
Requests for an independent review should be made in writing to: The
Information Commissioner, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire,
SK9 5AF.  However, I would advise you that the Information Commissioner
has indicated that a review will not be undertaken unless the Council has
first had an opportunity to re-consider its decision.

Dear Belfast City Council,

Thank you for replying, however this is not the information that I requested. I asked for the park bye-laws that are referenced in paragraph 3(1)(b) of the alcohol bye-laws. I did not request the alcohol bye-laws.

I appreciate that the alcohol bye-laws do have a small role in the regulation of parks, however paragraph 3(1)(b) suggests that there are also other bye-laws for this purpose. It is these that I requested.

Yours sincerely,

Conor Fawcett
