Parental Alienation

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Central Bedfordshire Council should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Central Bedfordshire Council,

This request is for "Children Care / Protection" team or department who is responsible for directly or indirectly caring of children upon identifying child as "Child in Need".

During the time when child is identified as "Child in Need" and local authorities deal with separating parents specially when mother has alleged domestic abuse against the father. During the Child in need meetings with affected child and separating parents.

When the affect child refuses to meet and/or speak with the non-resident parent, is case worker handling the case trained to identify "Parental Alienation".

1) Is Parental Alienation recognised as a reason for child refusing to meet and/or speak with non-resident parent ?

2) Are your case worker professionally trained to spot and recognise controlling behaviour by resident parent which intern leads to the complete or partial refusal by child to meet and/or speak with non-resident parent.

3) Please provide details of the training / courses or literature available to case worker to identify the signs of parental alienation in direct or indirect form.

4) Please provide details of cases in which parental alienation was proved in the family court proceedings where your case worker was party to the family case or either a witness in the court proceedings.

In some circumstances a fee may be payable and if that is the case I will
let you know. A fees notice will be sent to you and you will be required
to pay before we proceed with your request.
