Secretary DSMA Committee, Defence and Security Media Advisory Committee

Dear Mr Charles,
Thank you for your email this morning enquiring about Palantir contracts.
The DSMA Committee is an entirely independent non statutory body
unconnected with HM Government.  As such it is not bound by Freedom of
Information legislation.
The Committee's sole remit is the prevention of the inadvertent
publication of information which could damage national security or
endanger life.  All communication with the Committee is considered
privileged and is not discussed with third parties without express
consent.  Nevertheless, our aim is to be as transparent and open as
possible.
There are five 'standing notices' to which we refer when offering advice.
(These are described on our website at the link below).  Occasionally
'supplementary notices' are issued, which would invariably draw attention
to the standing notices.
I am able to confirm to you that no 'advisory notes about Palantir
contracts' have been issued in the last twelve months.
You may be interested to know that the minutes of the Committee's meetings
since 2014 are available to read on our website under the heading 'News'.
Since 2019 we have also published brief summaries of the Secretary's
report listing any supplementary notices issued and summarising the topics
about which advice has been requested.
I hope this response is helpful to you. Please do come back to me if you
need any more information.
With renewed thanks and best wishes,
Yours aye,
Stephen
