Paid sick leave of Therese Coffey

Finn Keaney made this Freedom of Information request to Department for Work and Pensions Automatic anti-spam measures are in place for this older request. Please let us know if a further response is expected or if you are having trouble responding.

We're waiting for Finn Keaney to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Recently the former SSWP Therese Coffey disclosed that she'd been hospitalised for a month around four years ago due to ministerial stress. It is unclear if this was during her time as SSWP or in her previous position.

Given Ms Coffey's three years as SSWP involved managing the extent to which those who are too sick to work are financially supported by the taxpayer, I feel there is a much greater degree of public interest in understanding how much Ms Coffey was supported in this manner. It is helpful for us as the public to understand how the SSWP's own experience of paid time off work might influence her policy positions.

As such please could you provide information as to Ms Coffey's paid sickness - how much time she took off, whether some or all of it was paid in full - for each of her years in post.

Yours faithfully,

Finn Keaney
