Paediatric usage of Buccolam for pre-med/diagnostic use

The request was successful.

Dear Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust,

I write to you to request information to answer the below questions:

What number of Buccolam syringes were administered to paediatric patients for the purposes of sedation pre procedures over the last 12 months of data you hold (please provide details of what this date range is).

What number of Buccolam syringes were administered to paediatric patients for the purposes of treating epilepsy over the last 12 months of data you hold (please provide details of what this date range is).

If a specific purpose is not discernible please could I request the number of syringes administered to all paediatric patients. If the number of syringes is not possible but the number of paediatric patients that received Buccolam is, then again this information would also be gratefully received.

Yours faithfully,

Ed Fryer

Dear Requester

We are considering your request for information which was received on 4^th
February 2021.

I can confirm that the Trust holds information that falls within the
description specified in your request. However, we estimate that the cost
of complying with your request would exceed the appropriate limit of £450.
The appropriate limit is set by the Secretary of State in SI 2004 No 3244
- The Freedom of Information and Data Protection (Appropriate Limit and
Fees) Regulations 2004 as a limit of £450 for Public Authorities. This
represents the estimated cost of one person spending over 18 hours (at
rate of £25 per hour) in determining whether the Trust holds the
information, and in locating, retrieving and extracting information.

Under Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act the Trust is therefore
not obliged to comply with your request and we will not be processing your
request further.

If you narrow the scope of your request the Trust may be able to provide
the information free of charge because it would cost less than the
appropriate limit to do so although we cannot guarantee that this will be
the case. Any reformulated request received will be treated as a fresh FOI
request.
