Daniel Percy made this Freedom of Information request to Transport for London

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear Transport for London,

I would like to raise an FOI request for the following data for 2010:

- Monthly breakdown of Travelcard journeys made, split into modal categories (eg Bus, Tram, LU - LU, LU - National Rail, National Rail - National Rail, DLR-LU, DLR-NR).

- Monthly breakdown of PAYG journeys made, split into modal categories (eg Bus, Tram, LU - LU, LU - National Rail, National Rail - National Rail, DLR-LU, DLR-NR).

- Total of journeys per month made utilising the "Oyster Extension Permit" (OEP) set on a user's oyster card to extend the ticket's validity.

- Total number of journeys made where an OEP *should* have been set by the user but was not (ie journey starting in Travelcard coverage, but ending outside of coverage on NR with no OEP set).

Yours faithfully,

Daniel Percy

Dear Mr Percy,

Thank you for your email received by Transport for London (TfL) on 3
January 2011 asking for information regarding Travelcard and Pay As You Go
journeys.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000 and I can confirm that TfL does hold some of the
information you require. Please note the data provided is on an accounting
period basis as we do not possess it by calendar month.

1. Monthly breakdown of Travelcard journeys made, split into modal
categories.

2. Monthly breakdown of Pay As You Go journeys made, split into modal
categories

Please see the attached spreadsheet. Travelcard journeys are calculated
from ticket sales and survey-based ticket usage factors. These usage
factors do not distinguish between single mode and multi-mode journeys.
Unfortunately separate estimates of tram journeys made on Travelcards are
not available.

3. Total of journeys per month made utilising the "Oyster Extension
Permit" (OEP) set on a user's oyster card to extend the ticket's
validity.
