Oxford Low Traffic Neighbourhoods

Richard Parnham made this Freedom of Information request to Oxfordshire County Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

The request was successful.

Dear Oxfordshire County Council,

Please provide me with any data / report that seeks to establish which locations in Oxford suffer from the highest levels of traffic and, in particular, congestion. I make this request by reference to Oxfordshire County Council's plans to create multiple low traffic neighbourhood in Oxford. Does the council, in fact, actually know which neighbourhoods actually have high levels of traffic / congestion, which may form the basis for deciding which (if any) LTNs to introduce?

If no such data exists, please confirm this also.

Yours faithfully,

Richard Parnham

The Council collects a large amount of data related to traffic levels and
congestion.  This is available to view on our website
[1]https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/residents...

In terms of reports The Council produced an annual congestion monitoring
report until 2015.  The most recent version is attached, document titled,
‘Ox City & OCC Congestion Monitoring 2015-16.pdf’ and a survey was
undertaken in 2012 to ascertain the extent to which ‘rat-running’ was
taking place in the Crescent Road area of Oxford.  Please see attached,
Excel spreadsheet titled ‘Crescent Road Rat Run Survey.xlsx’.

Informal observations have also been undertaken in the areas covered by
the proposed LTNs.
