Overseas company properties title numbers

The request was partially successful.

Dear Land Registry,

Please provide me with a list of all land titles registered to overseas companies, along with their registered proprietors. Please include for each title whether it is a leasehold or freehold.
I understand that you have this information already prepared, as it was previously released to Private Eye.

If they are within the cost limit, I would also like, for each title (and in priority order),
1. as much geographical information as you are allowed to provide (and, at a minimum, the postcode district or similar geographical information) ;
2. For leasehold titles, the length of lease &
3. Registration date.

A spreadsheet format would be preferable.

Thanks in anticipation,

Thomas Bowden

Dear Thomas Bowden

Thank you for your email of 8 September 2015 where you requested a list of
all land titles registered to overseas companies.

I enclose a spreadsheet that was used by Private Eye. It lists overseas
companies that hold land in England and Wales. Please note that we only
deal with England and Wales. For Scotland please see
[1]https://www.ros.gov.uk/ and for Northern Ireland see
[2]http://www.dfpni.gov.uk/lps/index/land_r...

The spreadsheet contains information up to December 2014. If you wish to
have an updated list please note that we no longer provide the title
number and property address, the length of lease or registration date, as
they are exempt under section 21. Under section 21 of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000, we are not required to provide information in
response to a request if it is already reasonably accessible to you. The
title numbers are available by searching the index of proprietor’s names
(IOPN) using form PN1. The property address, and other details, can be
obtained from the register once the IOPN search has been carried out.
Please see [3]https://www.gov.uk/get-information-about...
and
[4]https://www.gov.uk/government/publicatio...
. I can provide an up to date list of overseas companies, but without the
other information requested. Please let me know if you wish to receive
this.

If you have any queries about this letter, please contact me.

You may be aware of the Prime Minister’s announcement that Land Registry
will be releasing overseas ownership data in the autumn.  It will be
released under licence – the licence terms have to be determined. The Data
will include:

•             Title number

•             Land or property address

•             Name and correspondence address of the legal owner(s)

•             Country or territory of incorporation

•             Date the owner was registered at Land Registry

•             Title numbers tenure (freehold/leasehold)

Land Registry has formally recorded the country of incorporation for
overseas companies since 1999. We are still determining what historical
data, if any, it is possible to include in the data set.

If you have any queries about this letter, please contact me.

If you are dissatisfied with this response to your request, you may seek
an internal review within two months of the date of our reply. Internal
reviews will be dealt within 20 working days. If at the end of this time
we are unable to respond, we will write to you explaining the reasons and
giving you a new date. If you seek an internal review please write to:

decision unless you have exhausted the complaints procedure provided by
