Overdosing of babies with fluoride

The request was successful.

Dear Food Standards Agency,

I am reminded that the UK Government's Committee on Toxicity has twice recommended a NOAEL of 0.05 mg F/kg bodyweight/day for babies aged 6 months in order to protect them from Moderate Dental Fluorosis. For an 8 kilo baby, this means a recommended maximum of 0.4 mg F per day).

However, in a fluoridated area where the water is dosed up to 1mg F/litre and where the baby drinks one litre of formula per day, the baby is overdosed by 0.6 mg F/day.

Are fluoridated babies overdosed with fluoride?

Yours faithfully,

Joy Warren
