Dear Mandy Byfield,

Thank you for this information. Just for my clarification and understanding, I'm looking at the Comprehensive Income and Expenditure Statement on the 14/15 Statement of Accounts, and there is a line labelled "Surplus on Continuing Operations". Is this line the same as the "(Surplus)/Deficit of Continuing Operations" line in statements from 2011 to 2013, and "Net Cost of Services" line in statements from prior 2011? As in, do all these lines signify the same thing? I'm finding it confusing because of the differing labels.

As an example, am I correct in saying that in 2006/7, the Gross Expenditure for the Net Cost of Services was £774,517.00, and in 2014/15 this figure was £895,045.00?

Yours sincerely,

Gareth Brading

Jon Hill,

Dear Mr Brading,

As Mandy has now left the council, this case has now been handed over to
me. I've passed your query on to our Finance Team to answer, as they would
be best placed to provide an explanation.

Yours sincerely,

Jon Hill,

Dear Mr Brading,

I have heard back from my colleagues in Finance and can confirm that your
assumption is correct and that the lines refer to the same thing.

Yours sincerely,

Jon Hill
