Outreach work with disadvantaged pupils

Dear Reading School,

I would like to make a request using Freedom of Information rules.

Does your school carry out any outreach work to encourage disadvantaged pupils to access the school? If so, can you send details of any outreach work that took place from July 2021 to date in answer to the following questions.

A) Do you carry out mentoring and/or coaching using outside organisations? If so please specify:
i) the name of the outside provider
ii) whether they provide live in person sessions or online sessions
iii) the predominant activity of the outreach offered eg. test familiarisation, confidence building etc.
iv) the number of disadvantaged pupils reached through this activity.
v) whether the programme is also available to other pupils who are not classed as disadvantaged.
vi) the cost to the school of offering the program.

B) Do you carry out mentoring and/or coaching using your own school resources? If so please specify:
i) whether this uses teaching staff, or teaching staff plus some pupils at the school
ii) whether this uses live in person sessions or online sessions.
iii) the predominant activity of the outreach offered eg. test familiarisation, confidence building etc
iv) the number of disadvantaged pupils reached through the activity.
v) whether the programme is also available to other pupils who are not classed as disadvantaged

C) Please disclose how disadvantaged children are selected for any outreach program.

D) In what year did the school start running an outreach program?

E) Please share reporting or success metrics collected for the outreach programme. Reports, minutes, or presentations relating to this work shared with governors, staff etc.

F) Can you please send the program details shared with parents/schools to describe the outreach offered to pupils. (Leaflets, emails, presentations etc.)

G) Are there any other measures the school takes to facilitate access for disadvantaged pupils?
