The procedure is described within the attached patient information
leaflet.
4. Does the leaflet advise the patient to ask her GP to prescribe
gynae-specific painkillers to be taken BEFORE the procedure - Y/N?
I have attached the patient information leaflet which does include
information about taking mild pain relief prior to the procedure.

take before the procedure?
I have attached the patient information leaflet which does include
information about taking mild pain relief prior to the procedure.
6. Are ALL your hysteroscopy/biopsy patients given the following choices
BEFORE the procedure is attempted:
a) General Anaesthesia – Y/N?
b) spinal anaesthesia – Y/N?
c) conscious sedation – Y/N?
Anaesthesia is discussed within patients and given on consent, information
is available in the patient leaflet about the use of anaesthesia.

hysteroscopy/biopsy patients had
a) GA with overnight stay?

patients had a failed procedure that had to be repeated with epidural, GA

If a procedure had failed in outpatients, the procedure it wouldn’t have
been recorded; therefore the possible follow-up (which is unflagged)
wouldn’t have the anaesthesia recorded (see point 7 above).

last 3 financial years
12. All surveys of patients’ experiences during the last 3 financial years
