"Our East End" business strategy

We're waiting for Abdul Hai to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Tower Hamlets Borough Council,

Can you tell me.

1. Our East End’ business strategy and plans for managing income and expenditure relating to the publication?

2. Can you confirm that the salary of one of the advertising staff is actually more than the yearly advertising revenue?

3. What other duties are Russell Cotman and other staff who work on "Our East End" doing? Mayor John Biggs and Graham White did not go into any details.

4. Can you tell me are the salaries for staff who work in this publication in line with industry pay?

5. Can you tell me how many copies of the publication are dumped on the streets?

6. Can you also tell me how much does community language translation cost and who does it?

Yours faithfully,

Abdul Hai

There are advertising staff. Either the site has not been updated or I have been given false information.

Suggestion from a source. They meant LBTH.

How much of advertising revenue comes from LMTH. I don't believe that volume comes from genuine advisers.
You could ask.

I have requested that the email address for answer number 5 be given by the whatdotheyknow team.

"No copies should be dumped anywhere. If you find they are please
notify us and we will investigate. –
communcations@towerhamlets.gov.uk"

Dear London Borough of Tower Hamlets,

That email address is not for members of the public it is for the press.

Kelly Powell told me that I should not contact the service using that email and Graham White told me under a stage 3 complaint that I have the right of FOI and complaints and that he backed up Kelly Powell.

Unless the policy has changed (I don't think there ever was a policy just Kelly Powell saying so) than you are going to have to provide a different email address.

Also I have sent an email with the heading complaint to the communications email and the staff did not even bother forwarding it.

The staff in the service did not even know who was acting service head. They are paid a lot but they can't communicate with each other.

Can you ask the officer that provided this email to provide an alternative email.

Yours sincerely,

Abdul Hai

A very good point which someone raised with me.

They made up Russell Cotman's job. He doesn't even have any experience in doing what he does. Publications used to be produced before his role so why does he all of a sudden have a job that is doing something that was being done anyways.

Abdul Hai left an annotation ()

I should get some of the answers from looking at the council accounts which are open now. http://www.towerhamlets.gov.uk/lgnl/coun...

I contacted the council about Our East End and no reply.

Mind you the head of communications has not as far as I know replied to Moynul Islam even though he was meant to.

Thanks. Unfortunately @TowerHamletsNow press office rarely (if ever) respond to our enquiries. So we don’t even try to get clarification.

Replying to @CllrJoshuaPeck

At least under #LuturRahman we always got a response from media office, even though we knew the responses were total lies.
