Please provide the following information in an email format:

1. The current length of the OT waiting list. Please include:
The total number of cases
The approximate wait in months for an OT assessment.
Adult and paediatric figures.
A breakdown of case category numbers i.e. DFG, Moving & Handling

2. If you have used an external independent occupational therapy organisation in the last 12 months (1st May 2018 -30th April 2019) and if so:
Their name
The number of cases outsourced and a cost paid per assessment (on average if easier)
The total value spent with them during this timeframe
If the work was tendered
If the supplier is under a contract what is the end contract date.

3. If there are any current vacant posts in the OT team and the total unspent salary value of these posts for the past 12 months (1st May 2018 - 30th April 2019)

4. The name, email and contact number of the person responsible for commissioning independent OT assessments on behalf of the Council.

In your request you asked for the following information:

 

Who delivers OT support for children as part of the EHCP process for the
LEA? For example, is this the local NHS trust, a private organisation or a
combination of both.

 

Response: South Tees NHS Trust

 

2          EHCP OT advice

 

2.1       The number of requests for OT advice to inform an EHCP that you
have commissioned in the past 12 months

2.2       The number of these requests still outstanding

2.3       The average time between requesting the EHCP OT advice and the
report being returned to the LEA over the past 12 months.

 

Response:

 

2.1.      22 requests for OT advice to inform an EHC plan over the last 12
months (April 2018 – April 2019)

2.2.      2 requests for OT advice to inform an EHC plan are outstanding
over the   last 12 months (April 2018 – April 2019)

2.3.      The average time taken between requesting OT advice and the
report being returned is 2.5 weeks (April 2018 – April 2019)

 

3          Reviews

 

3.1       Number of outstanding  EHCP termly / annual / half termly
reviews under EHCP provision that are waiting to be completed.

3.2       The average wait time for these reviews to take place.

3.1       Unfortunately the LA doesn’t hold this information. EHC plans
are only reviewed on annually. OT reviews are shared with educational
setting.

4          Out of Area students

 

The number of children and young people who are attending an education
establishment out of area and who's EHCP OT requirements are not able to
be met by their education establishments locality OT service.

 

Response:

 

There are 9 children in out of area residential placements with an EHC
plan where OT requirements, w all children have their OT requirements met
are by their educational establishment locality OT service.

 

5          Intervention

Number of approved occupational therapy treatment hours on EHCP plans for
students in the calendar year 2018-19  that are not currently being
provided.

 

Response:

 

Unfortunately the LA doesn’t hold this information. EHC plans are only
reviewed on an annual basis. The LA have not been informed of any concerns

relating to this question.

 

6          Is there a lack of capacity within the locality OT team to
provide the required volume of EHCP OT intervention required by the LEA?

 

Response:

 

No – the LA have not been made aware of capacity issues relating to OT.

 

7          Please provide the name, email and phone number of the manager
responsible for commissioning OT provision on behalf of the LEA.
