Dear Mr Cross,

Re: Information Request – Osborne

Thank you for your email dated 14^th August in which you requested
information on:

o The name of organisation that legally owns Osborne House
o A Copy of the agreement under which English Heritage manages Osborne
House including the gardens and estate attached to the house.

I can confirm that Historic England holds information that falls within
the scope of your request and that, under the Environmental Information
Regulations (EIR) 2004, I am able to provide you with that information.

Osborne Estate that is open to the public including Osborne House itself
is in the ownership of the Crown Estate, although part of the gardens is
now in the ownership of the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission
for England (HBMCE, also now known as Historic England).

The land is now under the care of English Heritage Trust is held by way
of a guardianship agreement under the Heritage Acts. We care for Osborne
House and Gardens and open it to the public under a national licence from
Historic England (the Property Licence and Operating Agreement for the
National Heritage Collection), that covers our many sites around the
country and runs until 2023. I have attached a copy of the Property
Licence and Operating Agreement for the National Heritage Collection.

I hope this the information is useful to you. Details of our review
procedure are attached.

Yours sincerely
