Ordinary and honnor degrees
Dear Cardiff University,
Under the freedom of information act I am requesting the following information:
The number of “ordinary” undergraduate degrees (degrees with out honours due to no dissertation or equivalent being completed) awarded each year for the last 8 years
The number of “honours” undergraduate degrees awarded each year for the last 8 years
If this information is held at a course/department/school (or equivalent ) then please provide this information, averaged over the 8 years if this is needed to prevent accidental disclosure of potentially identifiable information.
Please indicate which of these degrees awarded as a result of study at the HEI or through a franchise or partner institution if this information is held.

For ease of reference, I have reproduced your questions below and set out
our corresponding responses.

Please see attached spreadsheet, detailing at course level the average
number of honours/ordinary degree awarded a year by Cardiff University
over the last eight years. Please note Cardiff University has pass degrees
(no honours) where the student doesn’t have enough credits for the honours
award, but this is not related to dissertations.
I trust this information satisfies your enquiry. Should you feel
dissatisfied with this response or the way in which your request was
handled you can request an Internal Review. This should be made in writing
within 40 working days of the date of this email. Please provide your
unique reference number of your request, information on why you are
dissatisfied and any detail you would like us to consider as part of the
