Dear Mr Hardwick

Freedom of Information Act 2000

Thank you for your request for information that was received on 2 July
2020 requesting:

Please can you provide all correspondence with regard to the new parking
spaces on Orchard Place, the slip road to the Leamouth roundabout, which
was a 'Clearway'. This should include the rationale for removing the
'clearway' and justification for creating parking spaces which encourages
vehicle use and make air quality worse.

We are dealing with your request under the Freedom of Information Act
2000 and we aim to send a response by 30 July 2020.

In some case, a fee may be payable. If we decide a fee is payable, we will
send you a fee notice and we will require you to pay the fee before
proceeding with your request.

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 may restrict the release of some or
all of the information you have requested. We will carry out an assessment
and if any exemptions apply to some or all of the information then we
might not provide that information to you. We will inform you if this is
the case and advise you of your rights to request an internal review and
to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

We will also advise you if we cannot provide you with the information
requested for any other reason together with the reason(s) why and details
of how you may appeal (if appropriate).

Dear Tower Hamlets Borough Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Tower Hamlets Borough Council's handling of my FOI request 'Orchard Place - PTO2017'.

I requested ALL correspondence - this has not been received, as stated in the Non Exec Report are several references the the Mayor both receiving requests and making requests for these parking spaces. That correspondence is not included - Please provide this correspondence.

Additionally Para 3.2 identifies that City Island has several car free developments - these form part of the S106 requirements. How can formal requests be made to introduce new parking spaces to meet demand? This is a breach of the S106, or if outside the development, how can these additional spaces be justified? What happened to the CAR FREE requirement?

The slip roads form part of the A1020 and are designated a Clearway. Please can you also provide the authority to remove the Clearway designation for the on ramp from the Department of Transport, TfL or relevant authority.

Dear Mr Hardwick

I am writing to make you aware that there will be delays responding to
your FOI request as I have not been able to conclude my review. The
required comments from the Parking and Mobility Team have not been
received yet.

I am now on leave until 29th September 2020 and have asked this to be
picked up by my team. I will pick it up on my return and update you if it
has not been dealt with.

Please accept my apology as I have still not concluded my review as I need
further clarification from the Parking and Mobility Service.

I can confirm with regards to the City Island car free development,
residents are not entitled to resident permits. The parking bays that have
been provided are there to cater for those residents who do qualify for a
resident permit as part of the Permit Transfer Scheme and Disabled Blue
Badge Holders.
