Dear Croydon Borough Council,
Please provide the following :
1. Confirmation that the London Mozart Players received a “Flagship” grant amounting to £100,000 for the project “Oratorio of Hope” as part of the 2023 London Borough of Culture scheme. Please provide the date this grant was awarded and the schedule of payments to the London Mozart Players.
2. The cost of renting the performance venue at the Fairfield Halls for the performance of the “Oratorio of Hope”. Please indicate whether this was paid by the London Mozart Players or identify which other body met this charge.
3. Please provide a detailed list of how the grant or part of the grant was used by the London Mozart Players to pay fees for permanently employed members of the orchestra and freelance players along with a conductor or whether these fees were covered internally by the London Mozart Players from the orchestra’s own funds.
4. Please provide a list of how the grant or part of the grant was used by the London Mozart Players to commission composers, writers, and choreographers to create the “Oratorio of Hope”.
5. Please provide a detailed list of how the grant or part of the grant was used to pay for printing and distributing the music to the “Oratorio of Hope” to performing participants.
6. Please provide a detailed list of music publishers and performing rights societies, or both, with which the “Oratorio of Hope” has been issued or registered respectively.
7. Please provide a copy of the finished, commissioned score to the “Oratorio of Hope”, or provide information on how and from whom this can be obtained with a view to mounting subsequent performances.

has now considered your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Specifically, you have requested the following information:

was awarded and the schedule of payments to the London Mozart Players
The project was delivered on time and very successfully and was managed
through regular meetings with LMP through the boroughs steering group.
The grant itself was managed through our full form grant process
The grant agreement was signed on 1^st September 2022.
The following payment instalments were made: £35k – Nov 2022, £5k – Dec
22, £20k Feb 2023, £5k March 2023, £30k April 2023, £5k May 2023.
2. The cost of renting the performance venue at the Fairfield Halls for
the performance of the “Oratorio of Hope”. Please indicate whether this
was paid by the London Mozart Players or identify which other body met
this charge.
This charge was met by the London Mozart Players who would hold the cost
of hiring the venue for these performances
3. Please provide a detailed list of how the grant or part of the grant
was used by the London Mozart Players to pay fees for permanently employed
members of the orchestra and freelance players along with a conductor or
whether these fees were covered internally by the London Mozart Players
from the orchestra’s own funds.
