Oral hearings, reconsideration applications, and decision summaries

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Parole Board for England and Wales should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Parole Board for England and Wales,

I would like to request the following information.

1, the average amount of calendar days taken to conduct oral hearings starting with the date on which the prisoner sought the hearing and the date of the oral hearing. Please could I request this information for each month or year since 2012.

2, the number of reconsideration applications requested and decided, as broken down by the identity of the party seeking reconsideration (the prisoner, the Secretary of State without input from a victim, and the Secretary of State with input from a victim) and the breakdown of those reconsideration applications by outcome (allowed/dismissed).

3, the number of applications for decision summaries that have been made, the number granted and the number refused, and the breakdown as per the identity of the person making the application (victim, media, public).

If you are unable to provide the specific information request, then could you please provide the of information in the nearest format available. Thank you.

Yours faithfully,

Robert Thomas
