I am doing everything within my power, lawfully, to persuade the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) to place the Civil Disclosure Unit that serves North Yorkshire Police, and its PCC, into the ICO's monitoring scheme.

There are industrial scale breaches of the Act every year, by NYP/NYPCC CDU, in terms of operating outside the 20 working day limit. Quality of finalisation is often below the standard required, and they pick and choose how, when to respond to requesters based primarily on potential reputational damage to their police force.
Operation Kingfisher information requests, I am told by a source, have been placed in 'special measures' - and there will be delays and obfuscation, by the police force, in finalising them.
