Operation Close Pass plans
Dear Cambridgeshire Constabulary,
West Midlands Police have begun an initiative called Operation Close Pass aimed at improving cycling road safety targeting those drivers who overtake too closely to cyclists.

The #OpClosePass initiative has now shown to reduce cyclist KSIs by 20% and West Midlands Police now offer training to help roll this out to other police forces.
In January 2017 Cambridgeshire Police were not one of the first 16 forces to sign up for training despite policing Cambridge - the cycling capital of the UK.
Please can you answer the following questions:
1. Has Cambridgeshire Constabulary discussed the roll out of Operation Close Pass? In what form has this taken and with what seniority ?
2. Does Cambridgeshire Constabulary have plans to roll out Operation Close Pass within Cambridgeshire or has decided not to roll it out?
3. Have any Cambridgeshire police officers been trained in Operation Close Pass? How many?
4. Does Cambridgeshire Constabulary have any Operation Close Pass mats as offered for free by Cycling UK?
