Open Source computer operating systems and software
Dear Cabinet Office,
Do the UK Government recommend the use of, or have any current policies or rules recommending or suggesting, the use of open source computer operating systems or software. If so can you please provide either links to those recommendations, rules or policies or detail them in your response. Can you also say which departments or organisations, either Governmental or otherwise, such recommendations, policies or rules apply to and whether they are confined to England or are applicable to which or all of the other UK nations.
Yours faithfully,
Alan Taylor
