On-Street Grooming

The request was successful.

Dear Lancashire Police Authority,

Can you comment on the veracity of reports from police sources quoted in 'The Times' newspaper (dated 5th January 2011) that those convicted of the sexual exploitation of children (referred to in the report as "on-street grooming") represent only a small proportion of a "tidal wave" of offending that has been uncovered in Lancashire?

Has a pattern of sex offending been identified in Lancashire involving groups of older men who groom and abuse
vulnerable young girls?

Yours faithfully,

Tina Wingfield
