Dear Mr Soskin,

Could I query one of your answers to this request? You state the Vero contract was worth £18k over 6 months, but the Bexley Times says its own FOI request was answered with £12k over 6 months.

http://www.bexleytimes.co.uk/news/greenw...

Would you be able to confirm which is the correct figure? Many thanks for your time in pursuing this matter.

Yours sincerely,

Darryl Chamberlain

Alan Soskin,

Dear Mr Chamberlain

The headline of the Bexley Times article is at odds with the text of the
story.

The headline "Greenwich council spends £12k on PR team to bring in
corporate Olympic bashes but still no bookings" is not repeated in the
article, which correctly states "Greenwich council hired Vero
Communications in April on a six month basis * at a rate of £3,000 a
month * to *support and facilitate meetings with key delegates who would
have an interest in holding events in Greenwich during or after London
2012*."

The rate of £3,000 per month over 6 months equals £18,000 - which is
what both you and the reporter were advised.

The £12,000 figure derives from a separate answer that we provided to the
reporter relating to a separate question, which was "how much has been
paid" (so far).

Just goes to show that you can't believe everything you read in the
papers!

Regards,

-Alan
