Olympics - Diesel Particulates Cost Benefit Analysis

The request was successful.

Dear Olympic Delivery Authority,

Under the Environmental Information Regulations, please can you provide me with a copy of the "desk study" " undertaken to review the cost benefit of fitting
diesel particulate filters (DPFs) to on-site plants."

as referred to in "A Blueprint for Change"

http://www.london2012.com/documents/sust...

Noise and air quality
The ODA’s Code of Construction Practice (CoCP) includes measures for
minimising effects such as noise and vibration and dealing with pollution
incidents.
The ODA requires all contractors to use Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel in its
machinery. A desk study was undertaken to review the cost benefit of fitting
diesel particulate filters (DPFs) to on-site plants. The results of the study
demonstrated that the costs and benefits of DPFs being used on the Olympic
Park do not represent good value for money when compared with other
measures.

Yours faithfully,

T Henderson

Dear Information Officer,

Thank you for your response with the link to

http://www.london2012.com/documents/oda-...

You state that "the desk study is a report...".
However, the report includes the comment :

"The following short note provides a summary of the study and its results."

and I would argue that the desk study actually included a lot more detail than the short summary report provided.

Accordingly under EIR I would like to request a copy of the desk study and in particular I would be interested to see the emissions inventory, the effects of operation on the receptors as indicated by the air dispersion modelling and the costing of the health benefits.

Yours sincerely,

T Henderson
