Olympic Stadium ; increase in investment
Dear Newham Borough Council,
You replied to a Freedom of information request from Mike Law via this website on 21 June 2013. The relevant questions and your answers were
1. Are there any contingency plans in place to allow for the Council to increase its investment
in the stadium?
Answer: No
3. What limit, if any, has been placed on the amount the Council will consider investing in the
stadium?
Answer : An upper limit of £40 million.
However, in a written answer to a question at London Mayor's Question Time on 21 May 2015, the Mayor states that Newham is contributing £45m.
Can you please explain the discrepancy? If the Mayor is indeed correct, can you explain it in the context of your answer to Mr Law? If the Mayor is not correct, how will you inform GLA members of the Mayor's mistake?
Yours faithfully,
Richard Hunt

Dear Newham Borough Council,
You undertook to respond to my request by 23 July, and by law you should have done so.
My request is not a complicated one. It does not require the collection of a large quantity of documents.
It does however relate to a matter which is coming under increasing media scrutiny. I urge you to meet your legal obligations and provide your clear and unambiguous reply, as soon as possible.
Yours faithfully,
Richard Hunt
