Dear Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills,

Please would it be possible to provide an Excel spreadsheet that contains information about all full Ofsted inspections, going back as far as possible? Secondary schools only.

This would include the most recent inspection as well as any previous inspections for each school (ideally each inspection would appear on a separate row).

Please provide as many columns of data for each inspection as possible, including the overall Ofsted rating and the name of the Headteacher if possible.

I’m doing research into school improvement, so I’d really appreciate any data you could provide.

Thank you so much for your time.

Yours faithfully,

SRB

Dear Mr Belding,

Thank you for your email. I can confirm that Ofsted holds records of inspection outcomes for schools in England.

Ofsted routinely publishes the outcomes of maintained school (and academy) inspections here: https://www.gov.uk/government/collection...

Specifically of relevance to your request, older data can be found here:

1 January 2000 to 31 August 2005: https://www.gov.uk/government/publicatio...

2005 onwards: https://www.gov.uk/government/statistica.... This link includes a spreadsheet containing all inspections from 2005 to 2015 ('Management information - schools - 1 September 2005 to 31 August 2015').

If you are also interested in the non-association independent schools inspected by Ofsted, outcomes for those schools are here: https://www.gov.uk/government/collection....

As the information is available to you from the Ofsted website, section 21 of the FOI Act provides that we are not obliged to further disclose this information or to present it in an alternative way.

For wider information about the schools, as opposed to the inspection outcomes, it is possible to download the information from the Department for Education (DfE)'s 'Get Information about Schools' service, here: https://www.get-information-schools.serv.... .

I hope this information is of assistance to you.

Yours sincerely,

Elizabeth Banks
