Response
The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) helps employers make safer recruitment
decisions each year by processing and issuing DBS checks for England, Wales, the
Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man. DBS also maintains the adults' and children's Barred
Lists and makes considered safeguarding decisions as to whether an individual should be
included on one or both lists and barred from engaging in regulated activity.
1. The framework was let by ESPO who should be contacted regarding this

4. The current expiry date is 15/07/23. There is an option to extend the contract until
15/07/24.
5. The ‘bid pack’ has been provided via the PDF attachment accompanying this
response. Annexes A – C have been removed as they are internal Human
Resources policies and not directly relevant to the product specification for this
contract; Annexes D – E have been provided, however information within Annex E
relating to service levels and a service credit table has been redacted.
6. Yes, there are two extension periods in the contract – period one from 16th July
2022 to 15th July 2023, and period two from 16th July 2023 to 15th July 2024.
7. We are in the first extension period. Notice has not yet been given regarding the
potential second extension period.
8. The information you have requested is exempt from disclosure under section 40(2)
of the FOI Act. This exempts personal data if disclosure would breach any of the
data protection principles. We therefore consider that the information you request
would breach the first data protection principle and is therefore exempt under
Section 40 (2) by virtue of Section 40 (3)(i) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
