Obesity Education in Clinical Curriculums
Dear University of Portsmouth,
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I am requesting information regarding the scope, content, and effectiveness of undergraduate clinical education and training programmes managed by your university, particularly in relation to obesity management and education.
1. Please provide an overview of the current curriculums that include obesity management and education.
2. How are these curriculums integrated into various specialties, and what are the core components and learning objectives related to obesity?
3. Could you detail the specific competencies related to obesity management that undergraduate trainees are expected to achieve? (for example, doctors, nurses, dietitians, physiotherapists)
4. Has your university identified any significant challenges or gaps in the provision of education on obesity management at the undergraduate level? If yes, how are these challenges currently being addressed or planned to be addressed in the future?
5. Please provide information on any existing partnerships or collaborations specifically aimed at enhancing undergraduate education and training in obesity management
6. What resources or funding initiatives are available to support undergraduate education and training in obesity? This could include grants, scholarships, or access to specialist training facilities.
7. Are there any upcoming changes, initiatives, or developments within undergraduate medical education that aim to improve or expand upon the existing obesity management and education?
Thank you for receiving this request.
Yours faithfully,
Laura

Please don’t take offence if I don’t reply to say ‘thank you’. If every UK
adult sent 1 less courtesy email a day, we’d save over 16,400 tonnes of
carbon a year – so, [7]think before you thank.
Dear Laura,
