Please see below the Trust’s response below.
1) What is the total Non-Framework Agency spend solely for Nurses from 1st
April 2021 to 31st March 2023? Please provide a breakdown of spend, per
specialty. Data not available for the period specified - 1/1/22-to date
£44,453. Don’t have a monthly breakdown available.
2) What is the total Non-Framework Agency spend solely for HCAs from 1st
April 2021 to 31st March 2023? Please provide a breakdown of spend, per
specialty.None
3) How many Non-Framework Agencies have supplied solely for Nurses to the
Trust from 1st April 2021 to 31st March 2023? Please provide a full
breakdown per, specialty and by each recruitment agency by company name.
Thornbury Nursing (data not available for time period requested),
ProHealthcare (28 shifts / medicine), Vulcan Healthcare (neonatal unit 7
shifts). Vulcan was booked in error – cancelled when identified.
ProHealthcare booked directly off the system.
4) How many requirements that came out for the following specialties from
1st April 2022 to 31st March 2023 were filled by Non Framework agencies,
please break this down per calendar month:
- ITU
- Midwifery
- Paediatrics
- Neonates
- General Nursing
- Mental Health

Data not available as the cascade on the system doesn’t record this way.
All shifts are released to bank and then to agency. The system doesn’t
have off-framework available, except for Thornbury which needs approval to
unlock.
Data also not available for Thornbury as these shifts were up until the
middle of last year not booked via the system but directly, so not
recorded anywhere. From November 2022 I recorded the following: the
following requests were put out to Thornbury – 2 paediatrics, 3 surgical
emergency unit, 4 ED, 5 AAU, 2 Short stay in patients, 4 NICU, 1 acute
medicine. All these requests
