How many passengers boarded the 319, 249, and 315 buses in/around Streatham Station and St Leonard’s Church each day between 07:30 – 09:30hrs between the beginning of October 2017 and the end of September 2018?

How many travellers boarded the 255 bus in/near Streatham Hill station each day between 07:30 – 09:30hrs between the beginning of October 2017 and the end of September 2018?

How many of travellers entered the barriers at Tooting Bec and Balham tube stations over that same one-year period during the same 2-hour morning rush-hour?

Dear Mr Holt

TfL Ref: 2345-1819

Thank you for your clarification of your request received by Transport for
London (TfL) on 15 December 2018 as below.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of
the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can
confirm that we hold the information you require.  You asked for:

i) the number of travellers  catching the 319 between 07.30 and 09.00hrs
Monday – Friday over the period between 01.11.17 and 31.08.18 at bus stops
SL and S and with those numbers sub-divided into 15-minute periods over
the course of that 1.5-hour period.

ii) the number of travellers catching the 249 between 07.30 and 09.00hrs
Monday – Friday over the period between 01.11.17 and 31.08.18 at bus stops
SH, SK, SL and S and with those numbers sub-divided into 15-minute periods
over the course of that 1.5-hour period.

iii) the number of travellers catching the 255 between 07.30 and 09.00hrs
Monday – Friday over the period between 01.11.17 and 31.08.18 at bus stops
Q, N and P and with those numbers sub-divided into 15-minute periods over
the course of that 1.5-hour period.

iv) How many of travellers entered the barriers at Tooting Bec and Balham
tube stations over that same one-year period during the same 2-hour
morning rush-hour?

Please find the requested data in the attached csv file.

There are three files:

-       Bus boardings, covering the stops, routes, dates and time periods
requested

-       London Underground station entries, covering the stations dates
and time periods requested

-       A reference table of the bus stop flag numbers provided by the
requester against the bus stop ID as recorded in the ticketing database.

Please note the following when reviewing the information:

-       This data has been extracted from our ticketing database, and
represents successful ticket validations for the relevant transaction
types, comprising of:

o   Oyster card and contactless payment card taps for bus boardings

o   Oyster card, contactless payment card and magnetic paper ticket taps
for London Underground station entries

-       As such, any bus boardings and station entries where a ticket was
not actively validated, for example, where children have boarded a bus and
not been required to tap, or where station gatelines have been opened by
station staff to ease instances of crowding and congestion, would not be
recorded in this data.

-       Data is broken down into 15 minute intervals, with the time
recorded in the field representative of the start of that 15 minute
interval (i.e. 07:30 covers transactions between 07:30:00 and 07:44:59).

-       In line with our privacy and data protection policy, observations
where less than 5 customers have boarded a bus or entered a station within
a 15 minute interval have been rounded up to 5. This is to ensure that
individuals cannot be identified.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable
to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to
appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would
like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely
