Waiting for an internal review by Independent Office for Police Conduct of their handling of this request.

Dear Independent Police Complaints Commission,

I would like to know how many complaints you have upheld in the last ten years and also, how many police officers were punished and/ or brought before a court of law as a result of any of your investigations.

Yours faithfully,

Mark Ritchie

Dear Claudia Rego,

That's ok I can wait till the 30th June for you to do your job properly. I've been waiting and been sent back and forth between yourselves and the police continually since 2004, lying to me about who my appeals body is to try and divert and stall me but it will not prevail. I will keep fighting for justice with your help or not. The police committing crimes is no different to members of the public committing crimes and should be treated the same way. It's just a sad fact of life that you protect the people you should be exposing as corrupt. That's why we had the injustice of the mark Duggan inquest and the cardiff fours collapsed trial when they were trying to get justice too against the officers who committed offences.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Ritchie

Government fears and talks about gang culture - we should be scared because one of the most powerful is looking us all right in the face.

The biggest criminals on the planet are the USA and British governments. No coincidence that weapons inspector David Kelly's life came to an abrupt end on the eve of him going to expose what they did with the sexed up dossier that there were WOMD in Iraq.

Dear Claudia Rego,

Clearly you are making excuses why you will not supply all the information I have requested. Money should never be an issue when it comes to the transparency of justice yet you are relying on this argument to cover your tracks. Even more worrying is with the information you provided, only three officers have in your view perverted the course of justice???

This is scandalous that you are stating you have only uncovered that amount of wrongdoing within your commission. Could you now tell me the data on what happened to these officers, such as, were they subsequently charged and found guilty or not guilty in court and also what sentences were given if in fact, they were found guilty.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Ritchie

Dear Mr Ritchie,

Thank you for your email of 29 November 2014.

You request 'the data on what happened to these officers, such as, were they subsequently charged and found guilty or not guilty in court and also what sentences were given if in fact they were found guilty'. It would appear to me that you may be referring to the three officers in the offence group 'perverting the course of justice' under table 2 'Offence group for which the officer stood trial and outcome' in our response to you of 30 June 2014 (copy attached to this email). I say this because you precede your request by saying 'only three officers have in your view perverted the course of justice'. As, however, the table confirms that these three officers were found 'not guilty', the answer to your request is contained in our letter, assuming that my interpretation is correct.

Please let me know if in fact you are requesting some other information.

Yours sincerely,

P Johnston
Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC)

Dear Phil Johnston,

So even more concerning then is the fact that it seems police officers by and large when committing serious offences, do not face punishment for their actions from the IPCC. A recent example of this is the officers who deliberately stitched up the cardiff three (who served lengthy prison sentences because of these officers might I add), and faced trial due to perverting the course of justice, also escaped punishment because the very same force tampered, hid, mishandled and destroyed vital evidence relating to the case. That botched trial cost the taxpayer £30 million pounds yet you as an organisation meant to weed out any corruption, you decide no action should be taken in this case???

Please answer the questions that I pose to you here.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Ritchie

An arrogant response from the IPCC. If they cannot answer, they will say the request is 'vexatious'. Sadly this is typical of them.
However, since P.Johnston states your request is not vexatious if each point is considered individually, I hope you complain again using each of your points as one individual complaint.
The IPCC is, on the whole, corrupt because it employs former police officers. These hold sway over the non-police employees.
You could also try the government’s latest consultation which is currently requesting public information:

I agree Sian. It is another attempt to twist the situation to suit themselves and fail to give out the information the public deserve to see. It is quite clear from mr johns ins own comments that rather than look at all the requests individually, he has decided that he will apply the vexatious get out of jail card by looking at it collectively. It still doesn't wash however as the number if requests the public make should have no bearing on the transparency of the IPCC when said requests are asking for legitimate information. The fact that there is a continued refusal by the IPCC to supply information not just to myself but to many others on this sure, goes to show that corruption and wrongdoing is thriving within this organisation that we the taxpayer unfortunately have to fund.

No disrespect meant, but when is everyone going to realise that the IPCC is sponsored by the Home Office who is under the control of Central Government; they are not there to find in the Complainant's favour, they are there to conceal, cover up and whitewash in any way they possibly can, with frequent (deliberate) mistakes made along the way.

In short - its bent.

Since the IPCC is a publicly funded body, and wé have FOIA, it clearly enables corruption at the highest level, when it so overtly insults its public paymasters, by refusing to initially collate evidence of the results of its lawfully required actions.
Further, in refusing to inform the requesting public adequately under its lawful duty, it shows clear contempt for the law.
It seems that the head of this organisation needs to be brought to justice, for incompetence and misconduct in public office.
Who is it?

Mark Ritchie left an annotation ()

I've been trying to find that out who runs this racket but unsurprisingly everyone I ask within the IPCC becomes very vague about it.

Dear Independent Police Complaints Commission,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Independent Police Complaints Commission's handling of my FOI request 'Numbers of police officers brought to justice as a result of investogations by the IPCC'.

I believe the reasons given by Mr Johnson for failing to supply the information requested is an abuse of FOI rules whereby he states my request is vexacious.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/n...

It becomes obvious when reading down this thread that the government, via IPCC, is deliberately flouting its own législation as it liés to taxpayers and other votées. With élections in sight this should be à major matter for both parties currently in power.
