Dear Legal Aid Agency,

Please could you provide me with the following information:

1. The number of Civil and Immigration Escape Fee Case Claims (formerly known as Exceptional Case Claims) received by the Legal Aid Agency (and, before 1st April 2013, by the Legal Services Commission) in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

2. The number of Civil and Immigration Escape Fee Case Claims (formerly known as Exceptional Case Claims) where the amount assessed as payable was nil. (Again, for 2011, 2012 and 2013).

3. Details of any non-consolidated performance-related pay schemes extended to staff of the Legal Aid Agency’s Escape Cases Team in Jarrow.

Thank you for your email of 11 March 2014, in which you asked for the
following information from the Legal Aid Agency (LAA) an Executive Agency
of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ):

 

"1. The number of Civil and Immigration Escape Fee Case Claims (formerly
known as Exceptional Case Claims) received by the Legal Aid Agency (and,
before 1st April 2013, by the Legal Services Commission) in 2011, 2012 and
2013.
