Numbers of drivers/riders charged/summonsed or issued with FPN for excess speed (30mph) along A268 Peasmarsh
Dear Sussex Police,
Please would you provide me , under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act,
a): the numbers of drivers/riders charged or issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice for excess speed along A268 through Peasmarsh Village during the previous 12 months (from the date this request is processed). This request is confined ONLY to exceeding the 30mph limit running along Main Street from the entry to the village at the Rye end to the the 40mph increase around the area of Jempson's Supermarket. Please confine the reply to the above criterion and exclude any data collected from civilian 'volunteers' whom may record excess speed using a roadside hand-held speed detection device, and
b). the number of times Police Officers have held planned speed enforcement checks along the same stretch of road during the same time period.
Yours faithfully,
Mark Kellett

Dear Mark,
Thank you for your request which was received by Sussex Police.
This request will be dealt with under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and you will receive a response within the statutory timescale of 20 working days as defined by the Act, from the date of receipt. In some circumstances Sussex Police may be unable to achieve this deadline. If this is likely you will be informed and given a revised time-scale at the earliest opportunity.
Some requests may also require either full or partial transference to another public authority in order to answer your query in the fullest possible way. Again, you will be informed if this is the case.
Please Note:
Sussex Police are currently receiving a high volume of FOI requests at a time of reduced staffing levels to process them. Every effort is being made to comply with the statutory 20 working day response deadline but on occasions this may not be possible – we apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.
Yours sincerely
