Number of woodland officers in Scotland

The request was successful.

Garin P Linnington

Dear Scottish Forestry,

I am compiling data on the number of woodland officers, who are employed in Scottish Forestry, especially those who process woodland creation grants and appraise EIA forestry applications. Can you provide this?

I understand the current woodland creation rate is around 12,000ha a year, and there are expectations this will rise. I can therefore deduce how many woodland officers, are involved with woodland creation, albeit only part of their work, on top of other elements of grants and regulations.

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,

Garin Linnington
