Dear Department for Work and Pensions,
We are a sight-loss charity operating in West Suffolk, aiming to help those living with a visual impairment live independent and dignified lives.
We recently became aware of the Royal National College for the Blind's Specialist Employability Scheme, where people with a visual impairment who are in receipt of JSA can be referred by yourselves for free-of-charge, residential employment training.
We would like to submit a two-fold Freedom of Information request in respect of this scheme:
1. How many visually impaired people in Suffolk receive JSA?
2. Of these, how many have been referred by the DWP to the Royal National College for the Blind's Specialist Employability Scheme?
Many thanks in anticipation.
