Dear E-ACT,

I would like to make a FOI request to know:

1/ The number of teachers that took a period of maternity leave in the academic year 2021-22
2/ The number of teachers leaving an E-ACT school within two terms of returning from maternity leave in the academic year 2021-22.
3/ The total number of teaching / leadership staff across all of your schools (to calculate a percentage of how many are on maternity leave / leaving following maternity leave each year).

Further to your request for information under the Freedom of Information
Act 2000, dated 22 April 2022, please find enclosed E-ACT’s response:

 

1. The number of teachers that took a period of maternity leave in the
academic year 2021-22

 

For the academic year 2021-22, the E-ACT Trust had 77 employees on
maternity leave.

 

2. The number of teachers leaving an E-ACT school within two terms of
returning from maternity leave in the academic year 2021-22.

 

There were 7 employees who returned from maternity leave and left within
two terms. Additionally, there were 3 employees who did not return from
maternity leave but left employment.

 

3. The total number of teaching / leadership staff across all of your
schools (to calculate a percentage of how many are on maternity leave /
leaving following maternity leave each year).

 

1066 teaching staff are currently employed by E-ACT.

 

If  you  are  dissatisfied  with  the  handling  of  your  request,  you 
have  the  right  to  ask  for  an  internal  review. Internal review
requests should be submitted within two months of the date of receipt of
the response to your original  letter  and  should  be  addressed  to
[E-ACT request email]. Please remember  to  quote  the  reference number above
in any future communications.

 

If  you  are  not  content  with  the  outcome  of  the  internal 
review,  you  have  the right  to  apply  directly  to  the Information 
Commissioner  for  a  decision.  The  Information  Commissioner  can  be

Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.
