31^st March 2017

Dear Ms. Mandache

I write in response to your request for information dated 4^th March,
2017, received by the University and passed to me as the University’s
Freedom of Information Officer for action.

In response to your question:

I would like to know the number of students in 2016 who quit university
before finishing the undergraduate programme and getting a degree.

The University does record this information and therefore it is not held
by us.

We can however tell you that 8.1% of the 2,880 entrants who began a first
degree course with us in the 2014-15 academic year 233 did not continue
with their studies in the academic year 2015-16.

Further information and analysis of continuation rates across higher
education for all UK Universities can be found on the HESA web pages at:

[4]https://www.hesa.ac.uk/data-and-analysis...

I hope the University has made its response in a clear and constructive
manner; however, if you consider the University has handled your request
unfairly you are entitled to follow the process set out in our standard
advice on the University's Freedom of Information Complaints Procedure
which is available online at:

Yours sincerely
