Dear University of Plymouth,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of University of Plymouth's handling of my FOI request 'Number of staff suspensions from January 2012 - January 2018'.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/n...

Yours faithfully,

Daniel Powell

Dear Daniel

Thank you for your email. I have checked our records and am unsure why you are requesting an internal review of the handling of your request when the time for responding to your request has not expired.

In case you are not aware S10(1) Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requires that a public authority must comply with a request promptly and in any event not later than the 20th working day following receipt.

Under S10(6) a working day is defined as "any day other than a Saturday, a Sunday, Christmas Day, Good Friday or a day which is a bank holiday under the Banking and Financial Dealings Act 1971 in any part of the United Kingdom." Those days are listed here https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/197... .

Your request was received on 12th December. As you will see this means that there were 4 non-working days to take in account in calculating the time for responding to your request - Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day and 2nd January (a Bank Holiday in Scotland).

This means the 20th day following receipt of your request is 15th January 2019.

I trust this clarifies the matter so I do not propose to carry out an internal review at this stage.

Best wishes

Emma
