Number of serving officers with convictions

James Newman made this Freedom of Information request to North Yorkshire Police

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was partially successful.

Dear North Yorkshire Police,

Since 2007, how many police officers have worked and/or continue to work for North Yorkshire Police whilst having criminal or civil convictions? Also could you supply a list of the offences along with the number of officers related to each offence?

This request is being made under the Freedom of Information Request. It’s within the Public Interest to know the answer to this question and any refusal will be treated as a sign of guilt that North Yorkshire Police has something to hide from the Public. Namely how many of its officers are convicted criminals.

Yours faithfully,

James Alec Newman

Dear Chris Appleby,

I write to confirm that I still require the information which was requested under the Freedom of Information Act. As you point out my request was made some time ago and should have been answered within 20 days. I'm confused why your giving me a 20 day notice before withdraw when the request should just be answered within the original 20 day time frame.

Yours sincerely,

James Newman

I think the answer to the question is self-explanatory. The rampant corruption in North Yorkshire Police is so blatant that this force is now the subject of questions in Parliament. Please eee:

North Yorkshire Police is not denying public accusations of corruption.

When dealing with officers of this force, I always act on the basis they have criminal intent. I am normally right.

If the question here were, "the number of serving officers who should have convictions", then the answer would be "most of them".

If you want to know about the sort of crimes North Yorkshire Police commit against 83 year-old invalids, then please google:

Dear North Yorkshire Police,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of North Yorkshire Police's handling of my FOI request 'Number of serving officers with convictions'.

No reply to my request.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address:

I think you will find that the whole Country is run on corruption. One only has to look at MPs,newspaper owners, reporters, phone hackers, police officers (including C-Cs)and many others to assess just what the public have to contend with. I often wonder just why I served Queen and Country twice to be persecuted if I travel above a speed limit by a few MPH and live in a Country of corruption.
