Number of Recorded Sickness Absences

We're waiting for Jessica Ransom to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Tower Hamlets Borough Council,

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information:

1. The number of staff members employed by Tower Hamlets council who have called in sick for work. In other words, the number of sickness absences recorded.
2. How many had more than nine days off as a sickness absence?
3. I would also like to know the cost of sickness absences for the council
4. If possible I would like to know what illness was given, the length of time requested off work and the amount of time allowed. I would also like to know if the illness was authorised by a medical professional, i.e. was a sick note given
5. I would like a monthly breakdown of information for the last 12 months you have on record and the two years preceding this. If this is going to exceed the time or cost allowance, please start by giving me the last 12 months of data and then go back as far as the cost or time limit will allow.

I would like the information electronically, preferably as a data set e.g. in Excel not a PDF.

If the decision is made to withhold some of this data using exemptions in the Data Protection Act, please inform me of that fact and cite the exemptions used.

If some parts of this request are easier to answer than others, I would ask that you release the available data as soon as possible.

If you need any clarification, then please do not hesitate to contact me. Under Section 16 it is your duty to provide advice and assistance and so I would expect you to contact me if you find this request unmanageable in any way.

I would be grateful if you could confirm in writing that you have received this request, and I look forward to hearing from you within the 20-working day statutory time period. My contact details are listed below.

Best wishes,
Jessica Ransom

Yours faithfully,

Jessica Ransom

'unable to provide data re Authorised Med, as answer can change multiple times throughout the span of the absence.'
How can an answer change multiple times in one absence?????
What a joke!
