Thank you for your request dated 03 January 2023.
Our response is as follows:
- The number of potholes reported in 2022.
By “reported”, we assume you to mean reported by someone other than an
officer of the council in the course of their duties. Potholes are not
individually recorded in the council’s maintenance management system, but
a more general "carriageway defect".
Carriageway defects include a range of defects of which potholes are
included.

Potholes are not individually recorded in the council’s maintenance
management system, but a more general "carriageway defect".
Carriageway defects include a range of defects of which potholes are
included.
Please note that only reactive maintenance works with the approved cost
below £1000 were included. The repairs with higher value are treated as a
major planned works. The total includes the repair of such carriageway
defects that an officer of the council identified as being necessary in
the course of their duties
