Number of Patients per practice who are on repeat prescriptions for Benzodiazepines

NHS Hammersmith and Fulham Clinical Commissioning Group did not have the information requested.

Dear NHS Hammersmith and Fulham Clinical Commissioning Group,

Please supply a list of practices and number of patients in the Hammersmith and Fulham area who are prescribed Benzodiazepine precriptions on a repeat basis. If the term of continuous prescription and the age range of the patients to whom they are prescribed are available that would be most helpful.

Yours faithfully,

Peter Johnson

Dear Mr Johnson,

I am sorry that you felt our response was not helpful. You asked for
information that the CCG does not hold. As I explained, there is a
national prescribing database that is managed and owned by NHS Business
Services Authority which GP prescribing information is collated. NHS
Digital produce and publish prescribing information reports. Information
is available on both of their websites. I cannot speak for those
organisations so I do not know if the information that you have requested
would be available in that format but suggested that you initially review
the information already available through the websites before contacting
them. The websites will have further information about NHS prescribing
data. The information would also be available direct from GP practices.
The two websites are -

NHS Business Services Authority -
[1]www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/prescription-data/prescribing-data. (www nhsbsa nhs
uk/prescription-data/prescribing-data).

NHS Digital - [2]www.digital.nhs.uk/prescribing. (www
digital.nhs.uk/prescribing).

If you are still dissatisfied with your response you can refer your
complaint to the Information Commissioner by writing to: The Information
Commissioner, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow SK9 5AF which can
investigate the matter.
