Thank you for your request for information, which was received on 21 May
2017.
You requested ‘I am curious as to the amount of people who took part in
the KS2 moderation assessment in 2017 and as to the amount of people that
passed. I would be grateful if you could give the individual statistics
for Darlington and the individual statistics for County Durham.’
A copy of the information is outlined below –
The key stage 2 (KS2) writing moderation online standardisation exercise
was taken by 297 lead moderators and resulted in 90% being successful. The
online standardisation exercise was also taken by 2547 team moderators and
resulted in 33% being successful, a further 55% were identified as
requiring further training or support and 12% were not approved for
moderating.
13 moderators completed the KS2 online standardisation exercise on behalf
of County Durham LA. 85% of those successfully completed the exercise and
15% were not approved for moderating within the 2016-17 test cycle.
For Darlington the KS2 online standardisation exercise was taken by 6
people. This resulted in 100% being successful.

(the Act).

Dear Joanne Williams,
We recently responded to your freedom of information request (FOI)
regarding the 2017 KS2 standardisation exercise.
We are providing further contextual information for your request. ‘For
County Durham the KS2 online standardisation exercise was taken by 13
people. This resulted in 85% being successful and 15% who did not
initially correctly identify all of the standardisation collections.
However, following additional training and quality assurance, they have
now been approved for moderation.’
