Number of Masters Applications to Imperial College London

The request was successful.

Charlotte Rawlings

Dear Imperial College London,

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information:

I would be grateful if you could tell me the number of Masters degree applications (this isn't just ones that have been accepted, but the number of applications in total) you have received for all of your Masters courses, for the following time frames:

For the 2020/2021 academic year from when applications opened.
For the 2019/2020 academic year from when applications opened.

It would be great if you could provide this information in an Excel spreadsheet broken down in monthly categories ie January 2020 received xxxx applications, if this is at all possible.

If you need any clarification then please do not hesitate to contact me. Under Section 16 it is your duty to provide advice and assistance and so I would expect you to contact me if you find this request unmanageable in any way.

If you can identify any ways that my request could be refined I would be grateful for any further advice and assistance.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to your response.

Yours faithfully,

Charlotte Rawlings

Dear Ms Rawlings,

Thank you for your FOI request, below. Could you please clarify whether you are seeking figures for each postgraduate programme by month or just a total by month of all postgraduate applications? You should be aware that if it is the former, figures for applications for each course by month the application was received, that would likely result in low numbers. We would not disclose figures of five or fewer due to the risk of disclosing personal information.

I am not sure that we would be able to provide the information broken down by month, usually we provide admissions and applications statistics by the academic year of admission, but we can check if we are clear what information you are seeking.

Yours,

Anita Hunt

Dear IMPFOI,

Thank you for getting back to me. To answer your question, I don't need the number of applications to be broken down by postgraduate programme – I'm happy just to receive the total number per month.

If you are unable to provide the information in a monthly break down, let me know and we can discuss an alternative format.

Yours sincerely,

Charlotte Rawlings
