Dear Mr John Cairns,

Freedom of Information Request – FOI-17-1637

Please find enclosed a response to your request for information, which was
received on 29/10/2017, and has been dealt with under the Freedom of
Information Act 200 (“the Act”).

Please can you tell me how many Litter Enforcement Officers you employ? -
Blaby District Council do not employ any full time staff to undertake this
role, however all officers within the Environmental Health Team are
authorised to issue fixed penalty notices if they witness an offence.  The
team consists of 8 members of staff who can issue the notices.

 

Also, if someone is caught littering how much is your standard imposed
fine? - The fixed penalty notice is for £75.

The information provided in response to Freedom of Information requests is
