Dear Northern Ireland Housing Executive,
I am writing under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request information about the number of EEA/Swiss nationals and their family members who have been refused homelessness assistance due to not having comprehensive sickness insurance. This would have impacted applicants relying on having a right to reside as a self-sufficient person, a student or a permanent right of residence made up of some periods as either a self-sufficient person or student.
Please provide, for each of the years 2006 to 2021, the number of homelessness assistance refusals on the grounds that the applicant or the sponsor of the applicant:
1) Did not have comprehensive sickness insurance
2) Did not have a right to reside under the EEA Regulations, broken down by:
a) Self-sufficient person
b)Student
c)Permanent resident
3)Did not have a right to reside under the EEA Regulations
Should the cost of compliance with this request exceed the statutory limit, please provide information for the points above in order until the cost is exceeded.

relation to the number of EEA/Swiss nationals and their family members who
have been refused homelessness assistance due to not having comprehensive
sickness insurance. I am dealing with this under the terms of the above
legislation.
We will endeavour to respond to your request promptly and in any event in
accordance with the requirements of the Act. The standard requirement for
response is 20 working days (excluding public holidays) from receipt of
the request; you should therefore receive a reply by 8^th July 2022.
