Dear Ayrshire and Arran NHS Board,

I am writing to you to make a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Can you please provide me with:
• The number of eating disorder patients detained in hospital under Section 3 Mental Health Act 1983 in 2016 and 2017 in your area
• Number of eating disorder patients detained under s3 MHA 1983 who were discharged from hospital under a Community Treatment Order in 2016 and 2017 in your area.
• Number of eating disorder patients in your area who were discharged from hospital in 2016 and 2017 who had been detained under s3 MHA 1983 at any time (including immediately prior to discharge) during their stay in hospital

•         Do you mean the Mental Health Act 2003 which came into force in
2005?

1) The number of eating disorder patients detained in hospital under Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003 in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 in your area
2) Number of eating disorder patients detained under Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003 who were discharged from hospital under a Community Compulsory Treatment Order in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 in your area.
3) Number of eating disorder patients in your area who were discharged from hospital in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 who had been detained under Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003 any time (including immediately prior to discharge) during their stay in hospital.
4) Number of eating disorder patients who were placed under a Community Compulsory Treatment Order that was not a conversion from a hospital based compulsory treatment order in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.
